June 2, 2021

The National Lacrosse League Players Association announced their rebrand this week, replacing the Professional Lacrosse Players Association with a name more in line with their mission and goals. NLL: Rock’s move to Hamilton presents challenges

May 12, 2021

What a week in the NLL. First the news of the Saskatchewan Rush being sold came (but staying in Saskatoon, for now at least), and then the Toronto Rock announced they’re moving to Hamilton. The Sask news caught us by surprise, but the Rock news – well, with apologies to our readers, we’ve known since March. Out of respect for the people who weren’t supposed to leak the news, we…

Editorial: A tribute to Rocco Granato

January 5, 2021

https://www.bacchifh.com/obituaries/Rocco-Joseph-Granato-III?obId=19505696#/obituaryInfo I met Rocco Granato only once; he and his wife Jackie came to Toronto last year for a Rock/Wings game. I didn’t get a picture with him at the time, and when I realized later that I should have, I thought “next time!” knowing he was a frequent traveller when it came to lacrosse. But there won’t be a next time. Rocco tragically passed away on December 29 from…

REVIEW: Powless’ Medicine Game should be under every lacrosse fan’s Christmas tree

December 10, 2020

My first job was at Chapters, which was the family business as I grew up. I am a book snob. I have no problem admitting that. While the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover” has generally come to mean “don’t judge a person by their looks,” I absolutely judge actual books by their covers. I mean, you can take one look at a romance novel and know everything…

September 24, 2020

The New England Black Wolves selected one of the smallest draft classes last week, acquiring just five new players in the NLL’s first virtual draft.
