Bandits Goalie Mike Thompson Retires

Just a day after the Buffalo Bandits franchised goaltender Anthony Cosmo, it has been reported by IL Indoor that the other Bandits goalie, Mike Thompson, has retired from the NLL.

Thompson split time with Cosmo as the starting goaltender with Buffalo last season, and was the full time starter until the team traded for Cosmo mid season.

Thompson has won an NLL Championship and retires with an 11.3 career goals against average all time.

In 2008, he and Ken Montour split time as one of the best goaltending tandems of all time to win a National Lacrosse League Championship. Thompson did suffer a knee injury a couple of years ago, but he was still able to play last season.

Stay tuned for the official announcement from Thompson and the Bandits, and for more news about the Bandits and free agency throughout the off season.
