Burnaby Seeks first win against Langley

Tonight in the WLA the Burnaby Lakers (0-3) take on the Langley Thunder (3-1). The Lakers are in search of their first win of the season and will be in tough against one of the top teams in the league. The Thunder on the other hand will be looking to rebound after losing their first game of the season to Victoria.

Langley has so far this year had success due to their great goal tending as Brodie MacDonald has been phenomenal. He has posted a 6.50 G.A.A and .835 save percentage. The fact that MacDonald has been so good is bad news for the rest of the WLA, as it gives Langley another weapon along with their offense which is one of the best in the league. The Thunder have had a balanced attack this season as their offense has been evenly spread out as they have four players with 12 points.  Against Burnaby the Thunder will want to pressure Dan Lewis in net as he has struggled this year and if Langley gets to him early they will be able to control this game.

The Lakers have struggled this year as they only have one player who is in the double digits in points. The Lakers have scored the fewest goals in the league with 23 over three games. Goalie Dan Lewis has also struggled by posting a 11.18 G.A.A. If Burnaby want to win this game they need to find a way to spark their offense as they need to be able to keep pace with Langley’s fast pace style as Dan Lewis is not capable of keeping them in a close game.  If Burnaby can get a quick start and build momentum they will be able to win this game.

In the end expect Langley to win as they outclass Burnaby in every area of the game and will show their dominance by beating Burnaby.
