Canadian Roster for Duel in Denver Unveiled

The Canadian Lacrosse Association has unveiled its 23-man roster for the ‘Duel in Denver’, an international exhibition against the US Men’s National Team which will be held on Saturday, September 8 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. at 7pm.

The Colorado Mammoth has three players on Team Canada: 2012 National Lacrosse League MVP John Grant Jr., 2012 National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Year Adam Jones, and Jordan McBride.

Three current University of Denver lacrosse players (Jeremy Noble, Cameron Flint and Wesley Berg) and two Pioneer alumni (Mark Matthews and Geoff Snider) will represent Canada.

Snider was the MVP of the 2006 FIL World Championships, leading Canada to gold over the US. Four years later, the Americans avenged the loss, defeating the Canadians 12-10 in the world championship final.

“This game continues our quest to avenge the 2010 championship-game loss to the United States,” said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett, who is also the coordinator for Team Canada. “Although the game is just an exhibition, it means the world to everyone involved.”
