FIL Day Two: Iroquois Opens Against England

Day two of the FIL tournament is here with the United States defeating Canada yesterday 10-7. Today the rest of the countries kick off, including the Iroquois.

Early Games

10am- Netherlands vs China

10:30am- Latvia vs Switzerland

11am- Italy vs Norway

11am- Bermuda vs France

11am- Wales vs Russia

Game to Watch: Netherlands vs China. The Netherlands are a decent team and it should be interesting to see where China is at in their first ever tournament. Noway and Italy will also be a competitive game.

Player to Watch: Aaron Vanderhorst of the Netherlands. Canadian Sr B box lacrosse player might have some interesting moves.

Afternoon Games

1pm- Scotland vs Thailand

1:30pm- Finland vs Colombia

1:30pm- Slovakia vs Korea

2pm- Czech Republic vs Turkey

2:30pm- Poland vs Costa Rica

2:30pm- Argentina vs New Zealand

2:30pm- Spain vs Mexico

Game to Watch: Scotland and Thailand are probably the most evenly matched teams while Argentina and New Zealand the most lopsided. Depending on what you want to watch, those two games.

Player to Watch: Dominek Pesek on the Czech Republic is a spectacular box lacrosse player, seeing him play on a national stage could be very entertaining.

Evening Games

4pm- Germany vs Belgium

4:30pm- Ireland vs Ugudna

Game to Watch: Ugunda’s first international game should be very interesting to watch.

Player to Watch: Chris Mattes of Germany is with MLL’s Florida Launch and should own face offs.

Night Games

7pm- Australia vs Japan

7:30pm- England vs Iroquois

Game to Watch: England vs Iroquois. We’ve seen Canada and USA, now the third team in the mix to win it faces off.

Player to Watch: Lyle Thompson on the international stage is going to be fun to watch. The Iroquois are so in sync and watch for Lyle to take over the show.
