Indians Advance, Mohawks Need One More

In the Sr B division of Canadian box lacrosse, we see one team clinch a berth to the President’s Cup and the other one just a win away.Last night the Caughnawaga Indians claimed their fourth win over the Snake Island Muskies to take the Three Nations Lacrosse League championship in an 8-6 victory. They won the series four games to one in the best of seven showdown.

Lyle Thompson (Albany) put away five points while Jeremy Thompson (Edmonton Rush) added three of his own. The Indians goaltending combo of Alex Fortier and Daylin Adams allowed just six goals over three periods.

Jake Lazore, Joe Hall, Brodie Merrill (Philadelphia Wings) and Josh Sanderson (Toronto Rock) each had three points for the Muskies. Lazroe also allowed eight goals in the loss.

Lyle Thompson led the TNSLL playoffs with 41 points in eight games. Right behind him were the 36 points from Jerome Thompson and 34 from Sanderson of the Muskies.

Meanwhile, the Kahnawake Mohawks have a chance to close out their series with the Capital Region Axemen this Saturday. They lead the series 2-0 in the best of five. In their last game, the Mohawks took it 9-7.

Tim Bergin of the Axemen leads the playoffs with 18 points in four games. Right behind him are fellow Axemen Chris Konopliff and Mike Dube, while Caleb Wiles (Barrie Blizzard) of the Mohawks leads them with 10 points, one ahead of the nine from Callum Crawford (Minnesota Swarm).
