Lakers Add Saunders

The Peterborough Lakers have acquired forward Pat Saunders from the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks in return for the Lakers’ 2015 second round draft pick.Saunders has been playing with Sr B Owen Sound and has scored 19 goals on the season. The lefty forward also plays for the Brampton Inferno in the Canadian Lacrosse League and has spent some time with the Philadelphia Wings.

The Lakers lefty shooter core is weak so bringing in a veteran player like Saunders helps. However, he has not even played MSL this summer, not playing a single game for the Kodiaks.

He played in 10 games with 13 goals last season in Kitchener. But the Lakers are desperate for lefty shooters with John Tavares and John Grant Jr both out for the season more than likely.

Saunders has also seen time on the rosters of the Toronto Rock, Minnesota Swarm and Rochester Knighthawks. He has 55 goals over 20 career games in CLax.
