Major League Lacrosse Playoffs: Where We Stand

The Denver Outlaws victory over the Boston Cannons last night has huge impacts on the Major League Lacrosse playoff picture, and so will the Charlotte Hounds vs Rochester Rattlers game tonight. Here is a look at the playoff scenarios for the league.

If the Hounds lose tonight and the Long Island Lizards win tomorrow, the Hounds will be eliminated from a potential playoff spot. If they end up tying with the Boston Cannons, Boston owns the tie breaker.

If Rochester loses tonight, then the Chesapeake Bayhawks will clinch a playoff berth. If the Rattlers lose but the Bayhawks still win, that also clinches a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, the Hamilton Nationals absolutely need a win this week if they want to get into the playoffs, because if they lose to Long Island then they will fall to 3-8 and will be unable to catch the Lizards.

The Ohio Machine stayed alive for now with the Cannons losing to Denver last night, but to stay in the race they need to defeat the first place Bayhawks tomorrow night.

In some notes about how teams can clinch, the Denver Outlaws are in second place but their next three games are all on the road. The Rattlers meanwhile will be home for three of their last four games. The Cannons have two of their last three games at home, they face Chesapeake and then Ohio in a home and home series.
