The Baltimore Breakers boys club lacrosse program announced today that former All World Team USA player and National Lacrosse Hall of Fame member Mark Millon will be assuming the role of Director of Player and Coach Development for the program. Millon has worked with the Breakers intermittently since the program’s inception in 2003. He became full time head coach in 2013 with the Breakers U11 team. Millon’s responsibilities this year will include coaching two Breakers teams, creating a coaching curriculum that will be utilized by all Baltimore Breakers teams, developing an indoor training program to improve the individual skills of all players, and working with Breakers President J.J. Pearl in assembling an elite coaching staff.
“We are extremely pleased to have a player and teacher of Mark’s level assume such a large role in our program,” states Baltimore Breakers co-founder Ray Schulmeyer. “His experience on the field and commitment to excellence, along with his 20 years of experience teaching young players, will be an invaluable asset for our program and for the individual development of each and every Breakers player.”
“Lacrosse has given me all I have,” says Mark Millon. “The sport has been great to me as a player and my true life’s passion is in the development of young players. I have great systems and a great eye for instruction and I am excited to work with the Breakers, an organization with a very solid foundation. I hope to make it even stronger.”
Millon’s work will begin immediately as the Breakers begin tryouts on August 17, 2014, at St. Paul’s School. Millon will join Pearl and the rest of the Breakers coaching staff as they begin selection of players to fill teams from the Classes of 2016-2024. In addition to participating in team practices and competing in tournaments, this year all players will also participate in indoor skill sessions throughout the winter and fall.
“Obviously, everyone in lacrosse is aware of Mark Millon’s decorated career as a player, but what’s just as impressive is the fact that he’s operated Millon Lacrosse Camps and trained over 20,000 young men on how to play our great game!” notes Breakers President J.J. Pearl. “After an incredibly successful Spring/Summer in 2014 as a youth coach, the Breakers are ecstatic to introduce Mark as our Director of Player and Coach Development. Mark is widely recognized as one of the best technical instructors by many of the top college and professional coaches in the country.”

Mark Millon was a two time first team All American at the University of Massachusetts. He is a two time member of Team USA, being named the World’s Best Attackman each time. He was named the MVP of the 1994 World Games. Millon also had an illustrious professional career, being named the MLL Offensive MVP twice and the MLL League MVP in 2005 and being named a two time NLL First Team All Pro in the indoor league. In 2009 Millon was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
