MCLA: BYU and North Dakota State Open Seasons

Simon Fraser vs. Dominican – Simon Fraser is a school from western Canada which competes in the MCLA and is the only school north or south of the boarder to play in any American College lacrosse league. So far they are 1-0 on the year after beating Western Washington 10-7 last weekend. Senior Sam Chase leads them with four points on the year,Burnaby B.C native Jeremy Lashar made sixteen saves in net for SFU. Dominican is a school coming over from NCAA division II ranks and looking to make a name for themselves in their new league which they are already 1-0 so far. Picking up the 14-12 win Sonoma State a school in which  Coach Matt Blamey once coached.  Senior Kevin Powers leads his team with seven points while young gun freshman Micheal Manfredi has four.

 
BYU vs. San Diego State- BYU is always a top program in the MCLA and they look to open up their 2015 campaign tonight. Last year they were 15-4 overall and 3-1 in conference. San Diego had a close win in last week over UCLA tonight and look to get another big win over BYU.Freshman Kevin Leis was a standout last week having three points San Diego native Ryan Flaherty made twelve saves in net.

Auburn vs. LSU -Friday Auburn goes on the road Friday to play LSU so far Auburn is 0-2 and look to get their first win. Freshman Joe Cusimono leading the way with nine points. Goalie Judson Koss has thirty-three saves in two games but has let up nineteen goals. LSU 3-0 so far this season is looking to keep things rolling the the right directions. They so far have beat Texas A&M,Ole Miss and Florida. LSU points leader is Thomas Brown with fourteen and in the first game vs. A&m he went (7G,1A). Captain Rick Battista has made thirty-four saves so far this year.

North Dakota State vs. St. Johns -Both these teams start off the season Friday North Dakota went 8-5 last year and 3-1 in conference only be hide St. Johns 14-10 they look to take down St. Johns in this match up. St. Johns was 14-3 in 2014 and 4-0 in conference while losing to Grand Valley State 12-11 in the National championship. This game vs. North Dakota is a big UMLC game to start things off for 2015.
