MLL Team Reports: Week Five

Just one game was in action last week as Hamilton defeated Ohio. Here are the team reports for this week.Boston Cannons

Jordan Burke is back this week after missing some games with a broken thumb. Eric Hagerty goes to the practice squad and Mike Gabel resumes his role as the backup. Will Manny should be in the lineup sometime soon, and David Dimaria made his debut last week and should rotate with Kevin Buchanan at attack.

Hamilton Nationals

The Nationals are 4-0 and tied for first place now. All of their rookies are active while Cody Jamieson and Stephen Keogh are two games in. They struggled against Charlotte more than they should have but picked up a win over Ohio last week handily.

Ohio Machine

Peter Baum won’t be joining the Machine this week or in any other in 2013 after he told them he will be playing LXM Pro. The Machine need to find a way to score with just 29 goals this season, and their defense is second worst in the league. It is unclear if Stefan Schroder or Scott Rodgers will start in net.

New York Lizards

Tewaaraton candidate JoJo Marasco will be joining the Lizards after the Syracuse Orange lost in the NCAA championship game. Rob Pannell is also an option to be activated. The Lizards offense is starting to click and Tommy Palasek is becoming one of their better scorers.

Denver Outlaws

The Outlaws loom unstoppable at all parts of the field, led by Chris Bocklet. They face the 1-3 Boston Cannons at home this weekend. Bocklet leads MLL with 15 goals on the season, while defenseman Lee Zink is coming off of a defensive player of the week award. The Outlaws have won a franchise best 10 straight games.

Chesapeake Bayhawks

Could it be Casey Powell time? There is a chance he reports this week, and if not now it will be next week. The Bayhawks face the 4-0 Nationals this week.

Charlotte Hounds

Last game was in Hamilton at 11am so the Hounds were without Matt Danowski and Ryan Young. Those players should be coming back this week. Also joining the team are rookies John Haus, Mason Poli, Matt White and Mason McCormack. Jake Tripiucka could join them as well. Carter bender was sent to the practice squad while rookie Mike Sawyer was named MLL rookie of the week.

Rochester Rattlers

Tom Montelli has stepped up with 11 ground balls for this struggling Rochester team, and other than him Ned Crotty is the only player who has shown up this season. The defense needs to step up a bit but it has only been four games. Kevin Randall has shown progress.
