Nationals Stay Perfect

The Hamilton Nationals improved to 4-0 after defeating the Ohio Machine (0-4) on Thursday night by a score of 16-9.  Hamilton scored three straight goals to start the first quarter but after a trio of Ohio goals,  the Nationals only led 7-6 going into the second half.  The Nationals then dominated the second half outscoring Ohio 9-3.

The Nationals were led by Joe Walters with four goals and three assists.  Walters earned his 100th career assist on Kevin Crowley’s third goal of the game.  Second year player Crowley netted a game high five goals and one assist for six points.  Brett Queener returned from injury after missing the last game to register 15 saves for the victory.

Steele Stanwick led the Machine with five points (2G, 3A) while rookie Marcus Holman scored one goal, one-two point goal and two assists for four points on the night. Former Nationals goalie; Scott Rodgers recorded the loss in net making 11 saves.

Next up for the Nationals is June 1st when they travel to Annapolis, MD to take on the defending MLL Champions Chesapeake Bayhawks (3-1) at 7:30 pm.

Ohio looks for their first win of the season when they face the Rochester Rattlers (1-3 ) on June 2nd at 5 pm.
