NCAA GameDay: Maryland vs North Carolina Highlights Day

#1Maryland (6-0) vs #12 North Carolina (4-3) – One of the top games of the day. A big rivalry as the Terps and Tar Heels do battle in ACC play. The Terps are 1-0 in conference games, dominating Duke 16-7. UNC fell to Duke ten days ago in an 11-8 loss. Last season this matchup got heated with a scuffle at the midfield between Kevin Cooper and Greg McBride. Both will meet on the field again today. Maryland fell to the Tar Heels in 2012 with an 11-10 loss. Joe Breschi will look to spoil the John Tillmans perfect season.

Army (4-3) vs Lafayette (2-6) – Patriot League matchup between the two as the Black Knights take on the Jaguars. The Jags fell last season in a 10-3 loss at the hands of the Black Knights. Army is undefeated against Lafayette, with the matchup going as far back as 1926. Can the Jags finally get their first win? We will see come noon today.

Detroit Mercy (0-6) vs VMI (0-7) – Battle of the winless in this MAAC contest as the Titans travel to take on the Keydets. VMI squeaked by with the 8-7 win in 2012. Good thing about this game is that one team will walk away with their first victory of the season.

Manhattan (2-6) vs Jacksonville (3-3) – The Jaspers are coming off a one goal win against Mercer that gave them their second win of 2013. JU downed Siena in a one goal win a week ago to even out to  a .500 record. Last year, the Dolphins made fish food out of Manhattan in a 12-5 dominance.

Saint John’s (5-2) vs Robert Morris (4-3) – The Colonials have a lot of players returning home to the Philadelphia region today as they take on the Red Storm in a neutral location at Malvern Prep High School. Saint John’s are coming off two very big wins over Rutgers and Hofstra. Robert Morris pulled away with two wins of their own downing Jacksonville and Hobart. The Red Storm are 2-0 against the Colonials in their only two meetings that came in 2005 and 2006.
