NLL Injury Report: Tavares, Powless

There have been quite a bit of transactions in the National Lacrosse League this week, with most of them being injury related. We get you caught up on who will be out this week and in weeks to come.

Buffalo Bandits

John Tavares—IR Second Level: It sounds like Tavares will be missing quite some time, anywhere in between 3-10 weeks. It’s a lower leg injury and it sounds like an ankle, because he said it felt like he “tore his Achilles” against Toronto last week. He had already missed one game this season with a leg injury.

New England Black Wolves

Quinn Powless—IR Second Level: Powless was injured in the game against Minnesota last week. The nature of the injury is unclear but it doesn’t sound like he will play in Edmonton.

Brett Bucktooth—IR Second Level: Bucktooth has missed every game so far this season with a knee injury, and it doesn’t sound like he’ll be back anytime soon.

Rochester Knighthawks

Aaron Wilson—IR First Level: Wilson apparently was injured last week but there isn’t much out there as to what the injury is. But, he’s out this week it seems.

Stephen Keogh—PUP: Keogh was supposed to return last week against Toronto but did not, and head coach Mike Hasen would only say that he suffered the injury playing with Six Nations this summer and he is day-to-day.

Vancouver Stealth

Chris O’Dougherty—Activated: O’Dougherty had missed a few games for Vancouver but he’s back in action this week against the Colorado Mammoth.

Tyler Garrison—IR Second Level: Lower body injury and will miss this week but should be back in the next two weeks.

Rory Smith—IR Second Level: Same situation as Garrison, it’s just an upper body injury instead.
