Swarm and Black Wolves Battle for Playoff Lives

The Minnesota Swarm are 3-5 and are in fourth place in the East. Their last win was one that came in overtime over the Knighthawks. Since the Swarm lost their last two games, one to the Rock the other to the Stealth in a 21-15 game. They were without their leading point getter at the time Callum Crawford for that contest which does hurt. Callum also scored the game winner against Rochester.

Shayne Jackson is leading the team with thirty-five points while Crawford is second with thirty-three. Rookie Shane MacDonald was a bright spot in the loss to the Stealth he had his first NLL hat trick and got an assist for a four point game.

MacDonald will be back in the lineup this week along with fellow rookie Miles Thompson who is showing why he was a top three pick in this last collegiate draft.

Thirty-one points is good for third on the team for Thompson who has been stellar on offense from the start for the Swarm. The Swarm have some good players coming out the back door with other like Sam Bradman who keep getting better this team young and talent at both ends of the floor.

For the Black Wolves 2-5 was not the start this new team wanted or what fans thought was going to happen after starting the year 2-0. The offense lost promising rookie Quinn Powless for the year but got back veteran Brett Bucktooth who has ten points in three games and has played some very good ball since his return.

Kevin Crowley is leading the team with thirty-eight points which is no surprise. This team has been able to put up points all year but even with some bigger named guys on defense have not be able to stop other teams from doing the same. Also maybe we will get to see Bill O’Brien drop the gloves with heavyweight Andrew Suitor.

Both these teams are playing to keep their playoff hopes alive.
