Third Star- Mike Poulin- Calgary Roughnecks
Mike Poulin came up huge on Saturday night, making 56 saves on 66 shots to help lift the Calgary Roughnecks past the Colorado Mammoth 11-10 in overtime in the West Division Semifinals. Poulin also added a pair of assists in the victory. It wasn’t just the quantity of saves that made Poulin made, but rather the quality and timeliness of the saves the Kitchener,ON native made to help the Roughnecks punch their ticket to the West Division final.

Second Star- Shawn Evans- New England Black Wolves

Although the 2016 regular season is over, Shawn Evans continued to do Shawn Evans things in this year’s post season as he netted the overtime winner to give New England Blackwolves a 14-13 win over the Georgia Swarm in the East Division Finals. Evans finished with four goals and two assists for six points, which is especially impressive considering the Peterborough,ON native was anticipated to miss the game after leaving last week’s game with a head injury.

First Star- Curtis Dickson- Calgary Roughnecks

As valuable as Poulin was in the Roughnecks’ OT win, Curtis Dickson was even more integral, burying five goals and adding four assists for nine points. Dickson ripped a shot just under the bar to knot the game AT 10-10 with 25 seconds left in the fourth frame. He also notched an assist on Dane Dobbie’s overtime winner. Two of Dickson’s five goals came on the penalty kill in the third period. Although Dickson potted five goals, he managed to muster 26 shots, maybe not the greatest shooting percentage, but when Calgary needed Dickson the most, he finished.
