NLL Three Stars: Saunders Shines in Week 2

Third Star: Randy Staats—Georgia Swarm 

Randy Staats’ rookie campaign is off to a hot start as he totaled seven points (3 G, 4 A) in the Georgia Swarm’s impressive 12-7 win over the Toronto Rock on Saturday night. The 2016 first-round pick has 14 points and sits just one point behind the league leader Adam Jones. The former Syracuse Orange sniper has scored a hat trick in his first two NLL contests.

Second Star: Adam Jones—Colorado Mammoth


Adam Jones continued his strong start to 2016 with an eight-point performance that helped lift the Colorado Mammoth to a 16-14 victory over the Rochester Knighthawks. The lefty from Owen Sound, ON tallied four goals and four assists, giving him a league leading 15 points through two games.

First Star: Pat Saunders—New England Black Wolves

Pat Saunders kicked off the 2016 season with a bang, netting four goals and adding five assists for nine points in the New England Blackwolves 17-7 win over the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night. The Arthur, ON native is already building off last year’s breakout season where he netted 68 points (38 G, 30 A) in 17 games.
