MLL Off Season Grade: Ohio Machine

As a newer team added during the expansion 2 years ago, the Ohio Machine looks to continue to improve this summer. With the first game of the MLL season closing in, 4/26, the Machine is gearing up for an improvement on last year’s record, (2-12).

After being the worst team in the MLL for the past two years, they are looking for a serious turn around. They decided that Tom Schreiber of Princeton was their man to get the job done. He was selected 1st overall in this years draft by the Machine. After choosing high profile picks like Steele Stanwick and Peter Baum in previous drafts, they hope to continue to add some serious firepower with Schreiber.

A Tewaarton finalist last year, Schreiber continues to impress this season as the #1 midfielder in the game. He is a balanced player with 14 goals and 10 assists so far this season. I have been impressed by his vision and power. His fitness level is high and will fit in perfectly with the speed and demands of the MLL game. I believe that the Machine will be very happy with this Princeton Tiger once he joins them in the summer.

Another notable addition in the off season was Kyle Harrison. He is a legend. Harrison makes his return to the MLL after playing some LXM PRO ball and taking time off to build his brand with STX. A former Johns Hopkins Blue Jay, he is an all around midfielder with a blistering shot paired with dynamic speed. The Machine looks to bring the heat this summer on offense.

I look to the Machine to get out of last place and finally get some wins. If their defense can help back up the power they bring on the offensive side of the ball, they will be tough to beat in 2014.
