Outlaws Go Into Boston and Win, Could Move Into First

It was a game where Boston could move in either direction; into second, or possibly out of a playoff spot. But the Cannons could not keep up with the Denver Outlaws, and lost 17-13.

Chris Bocklet opened up the scoring with a pass form Jeremy Sieverts. Brendan Mundorf would also score in that quarter, but goals from Matt Poskay and Ari Sussman kept it a tied game after one quarter.

Pat Heim scored a goal early in the second quarter to give the Cannons their first lead of the night, but the Outlaws would soon reclaim it with goals from Mundorf and Sieverts. Matt Poskay scored his 200th career MLL goal in this quarter, just the sixth ever MLL player to enter into that class.

But other than that, things were bleak for the Cannons. Jordan McBride scored back to back goals in the second before a Boston goal from Mike Stone, and the Outlaws led 8-5 at the half.

Ryan Boyle opened up the third quarter with a goal but the Outlaws would still dominate that period. Peet Poillon and Drew Snider scored two a piece, and they also saw a goal from Mundorf.

Boston would score the next two goals of the third, coming from Sussman and JJ Morrissey, and they entered the fourth quarter down just by three, 13-10.

Paul Rabil scored to begin the fourth quarter and made it 13-11, just a two point deficit for the Cannons. McBride would score his third of the night soon after to give the Outlaws a three goal lead again. Right after Sussman scored again, Snider found the net for the third time of the night to give Denver a three goal lead again.

After that the Outlaws would pull away for the 17-13 victory. The Cannons will fall out of a playoff spot if the Lizards and Rochester Rattlers win this week. Meanwhile, if Chesapeake falls, Denver moves into first.
