Rockhoppers Have Week Off, Face Bombers

The Boston Rockhoppers face the Baltimore Bombers this weekend as the Bombers look to avenge their blowout loss to Boston a few weeks ago. Martin Bowes says they just need to play the same way to beat Baltimore.

“To beat Baltimore this upcoming weekend we’ve just got to keep doing what we’ve been doing. Using our athleticism to run on teams, great goaltending, and face off play have been some keys to our success.”

Some news around the Rockhoppers this week includes their release of goaltender Nick Schroeder, who was the starter when the season opened. However, Vincent Talbot has played so well, it’s now his spot.

“We feel that we’ve meshed together as a team extremely well considering how much time we spend together.” Bowes says. “With each practice and game we seem to build more team chemistry and that’s going to make us harder and harder to beat as the second half of the season progresses”

Boston had a week off after they blew out Rhode Island two weeks ago. Bowes says it was a good break. “Having a week off is a good thing for us. It’s an opportunity for anyone injured to get healthy and also refocus as a team to attack this second half of our season.

“There’s always going to be things we can improve upon. Winning big against Rhode Island felt good, but we know we can continue to progress moving forward.”
