Week 12 NLL Three Stars

Its not often this happens.  We had some great performances in the games this weekend, both on offense and defense.  We even had some milestones reached.  Rhys Duch became the All-Time goal scorer for the Stealth with 251 after netting a hat trick. And John Grant Jr., moved into second place in All-Time points with 1,335 after a one goal, five assist performance Saturday night.  But this week the three stars come from a team that has been struggling all year.

Week 12    Three Stars

1—Shawn Evans (Cal; 5 G, 6 A)  Evans has been on point just about every week.  This week was another Evans masterpiece. Evans notched 5 G, 6 A; three of the goals were shorthanded and his Roughnecks blasted the Black Wolves 20-9.  After 11 games Evans leads the Roughnecks with 32 G, 51 A, 83 PTS.

2—Curtis Dickson (Cal; 4 G, 7 A)  The man they call “Superman.”  Another super performance with four goals and seven assists as Dickson is also getting on track as each game is almost a must win.  Dickson ranks second overall on the team with 33 G, 25 A, 58 PTS.

3—Dane Dobbie (Cal; 6 G, 2 A)  The third part of this three-headed monster.  After serving a two-game suspension and only getting two assists last week, Dobbie scored six times (total for entire month of February) as he helped in the onslaught of the Black Wolves Friday night.

Honorable Mention:

Frank Scigliano (Cal) Stopped 46/55 shots in the 20-9 victory over the Black Wolves.  Daryl Veltman (Cal—6A). Veltman chipped in big with 6 assists.  Mark Matthews (Edm-2G/5A) in a big win over Toronto in a possible Champions Cup battle.  Robert Church (Edm- 3G/2A) All three of his goals came on the power play.  Nic Bilic (Edm-2G) Bilic may of only had two goals, but they were the tying and game winner.  Bilic had three shots total all game. Making the last two count.  Brett Hickey (Tor—3G/3A) in a hard fought game against the Rush.  Mark Steenhuis (Buf-3G/3A) in a much needed win to give some space as the Bandits battle for the final playoff spot.  Anthony Cosmo (Buf) Stopped 44/52 shots and coming up huge in the victory.  Joey Cupido (Col-3G) Hat-trick in a big win over the Stealth, Cupido leads all defenders with 13 goals.  Jeremy Noble (Col—4G/2A) led all goal scorers with four. In his two games Noble has registered 6G/7A.  John Grant Jr., (Col-1G/5A), moving into second on the All-Time Point list in N.L.L history.  Rhys Duch (Van–3G/2A)  With his hat-trick Duch became the all time leader in goals scored in Stealth franchise history.
