NLL Three Stars: Week 13

Nothing like another exciting week, the Edmonton Rush had a number of stars in their dismantling of Rochester. Colorado rookie goalie Alex Buque gets his first start and earns the victory.  Some stars stood out, and others were down and out.

Week 13    Three Stars

1—Aaron Bold (Edm—31 saves)  To say Bold was a brick wall would be an understatement.  Bold faced 34 shots stopping 31 as he only allowed 3 goals in a 16-3 win over Rochester. Bold has been playing lights out the last couple weeks, and if this keeps up it could spell trouble.

2—Brett Hickey (Tor—3G/5A)  The league leader in goals was at it again scoring three times. Hickeys last goal was the game winner as his Rock win 12-10.  Hickey has been one of the most consistent players this year averaging 4 points a game.

3—Alex Buque (Col—49 saves)  The rookie goaltender came up huge when called upon stopping 49 of 55 shots faced in a 12-6 win.  Buque play in the second half enabled the offense to out score Vancouver 7-3 and out some separation for the number two seed in the west..

Honorable Mention:

John Grant Jr.,Col– (3G/4A) scoring and dishing assists in typical Grant fashion. Jeremy Noble-Col (2G/3A) has yet to slow down since his first game three weeks ago.  Eli McLaughlin Col- (2G/4A) rookie played like a veteran.  Pat Saunders-NE (4G/1A) plays huge but comes in a defeat. Kevin Crowley-NE (1G/6A) led all scorers.  Miles Thompson Min- (3G), Jordan MacIntosh Min-(3G/2A), Shayne Jackson Min-(2G/4A) all played huge in a very much needed win to keep slim playoff hopes alive.  Josh Sanderson Tor-(2G/4A) assisted on the game winning goal to lock a playoff spot. Dane Dobbie Cal-(4G/2A) & Shawn Evans Cal-(1G/5A) doing what they can to stay in competition for the last playoff spot in the west.  Mark Matthews Edm-(4G/2A) started the onslaught just 20 seconds into the game.  Robert Church, Edm-(2G/5A) & Ben McIntosh, Edm-(3G/3A) the Dragon connection breathed fire just as they did during their time in the NCAA.
