Army Looks for Fifth Win, Faces Rutgers

Army is 4-1 at the moment with their only loss coming against Syracuse in a 12-9 loss. This past weekend the Black Knights got back on track with a 14-3 win over the Lafayette Leopards.  Senior attack man John Glesener is leading the way this season with twenty points (14G 6A). Right beside him is a sophomore out of Washington, Cole Johnson, with eighteen (15G 3A) and junior Connor Cook with fourteen (12G-2A).

Army is also very strong in net with senior Sam Somers who is one of the best in the country he has thirty- five saves so far this season.

Rutgers’ record stands at 2-3 but are a young promising team. Hometown player Scott Bieda is leading in points with fourteen (9G, 5A). Long Island sophomore Christian Trasolini is another young star and is a great goal scorer with eleven goals and two assists.  Rutgers has three freshmen in their top six point getters on the year so things will get better for the Scarlett Knights.

Junior Kris Alleyne is the main goalie and this is his third year as the starter he has thirty-one saves so far. Last year Rutgers pulled out the 9-8 while while neither of this yeas top two scorers got a point in it. In net Kris did make five saves on thirteen shots.

For Army, Alex Newsome had a hat trick in the Rutgers game and is now back this spring for his senior year. Somers made six saves on sixteen shots last year.

You can listen to the game live at 3pm on The Lacrosse Radio Network.
