Major League Lacrosse Power Rankings: Second Half Editon

With now regular season games this week, it would be hard to do power rankings. So instead today I will take a look at how I think the power rankings will turn out at the end of the second half.

1. Boston Cannons: I still feel like the Cannons have the most talent in the league, from the offense to the defense and the goaltending. They have hit a rough patch, but they have the talent to win it all once again.

2. Long Island Lizards: The Lizards are by far the hottest team in all of lacrosse, but can they keep it up? A young team that has lost some of it’s biggest names, they will have to prove their ability down the streatch.

3. Chesapeake Bayhawks: Chesapeake has had a great season, thought it has gone rather unnoticed. Their goaltending by committee has done well, and their two point shots is the nastiest in lacrosse.

4. Denver Outlaws: Denver has had their ups and downs, but there is some good talent on that team and Jesse Schwartzman is as good a goaltender as anyone in the league.

5. Hamilton Nationals: Hamilton has struggled with their young roster, but it took them a long time to get hot last season too. They have some awesome talent and I have no doubt they will compete until the end.

6. Rochester Rattlers: Rochester is hard to judge. Ned Crotty has been hurt and some players have stepped up, but not too many players on that roster stick out as impact players to get them into the playoffs.

7. Ohio Machine: Ohio doesn’t have much of a shot unless something changes. They have some good players thought so this is a good developmental year.

8. Charlotte Hounds: Charlotte has obvious problems throughout their roster but they also have some elite players. Next year we will see them contend.
