MLL Week 14 Three Stars

This weekend was full of heart ache for some teams, but for others, they celebrated the life of their teams playoff hopes.

The first star from this weekend is Peet Poillon. He has one of the biggest hearts on the lacrosse field and sacrifices his body to make a play.Recording six points against the Rochester Rattlers isn’t easy, especially going up against Kevin Drew, Roy Lang, Steve DeNapoli and Joel White as defensive midfielders. Poillon did it with hard work. He recorded 4 goals, one being a two point goal, and 1 assist.

My second star of the week is Adam Ghitelman. He stood strong in cage for the Hounds making 18 saves on 26 shots. He will need to continue playing that strong if Charlotte wants to end the season going out on a positive note.

The final star is awarded to Chris Eck. When Boston needed a win, Eck stepped up and dominated the faceoff X. Winning 24-32 faceoffs is not easy in the MLL, but when you’re season is on the line, you’re going to play your hardest and pull out all the tricks. If you control the faceoff X, you have more possibility of winning. That’s what Eck did. It helped Boston get the win and take one step closer to the 2012 postseason.

Honorable mention goes to Kevin Leveille of the Rochester Rattlers, as he overtook the second spot on the All-Time MLL Scoring list, recording three goals and one assist in the Rattlers loss to the Outlaws.
