NLL Power Rankings: Week 11

1—(1) Colorado Mammoth (8-2)   After a bye week the Mammoth are back in action.  The Mammoth and their fans hope that the week off did not cool off Adam Jones.  Next Game: @ Calgary Saturday 9pm.

2—(2) Buffalo Bandits (7-4)  Moved to the top of the eastern conference as they used a four goal run in the fourth to pick up the win 13-10 on Johnny Tavares Night.  Dhane Smith (4G/3A), Mark Steenhuis (3G/3A), and Ryan Benesch (2G/4A) led the attack.  Bandits have a bye this week.  Next Game: vs Vancouver  March 25th  7:30 p.m. 

3—(3) Saskatchewan Rush (6-3)   Rush scored early and often as they coasted to a 14-8 win.  Rush jumped out to an 8-2 halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way. Even though the Rush were shorthanded eight times, they only allowed 1 goal, but scored two shorthanded goals.  Mark Matthews (4G/4A) lead the attack in front of 13,720.  Next Game: @ Vancouver  Saturday  10 p.m.

4—(3) New England BlackWolves (5-4)   Fell to the Knighthawks 17-13.  Blackwolves jumped out quick and looked to take advantage of a team that played the night before leading 6-1 after the first quarter, then the Knighthawks woke up. A nine goal run in the second quarter was the downfall. Pat Saunders (3G/5A), Shawn Evans (2G/4A), led the Blackwolves.  Blackwolves have a bye this week, as they prepare for a home and home match-up with the same Knighhawk team.  Next Game’s : vs Rochester Friday March 25th  7pm,then @ Rochester March 26th  7:30pm.

5—(5) Rochester Knighthawks (5-5)   A huge weekend split keeps the Hawks in playoff contention.  Friday nights loss 13-10 to the Bandits seemed to still be on their minds as the Blackwolves jumped on them for a 6-1 lead.  That’s when the Knighthawks came to play with a nine goal second quarter.  These team meet again in a home and home match-up Mrch 25-26, and if this game was a sign of things to come, watch out.  Next Game: @ Georgia Friday  7:30pm

6—(6)  Georgia Swarm (4-6) Looked like they were still on the bye week , as the Rush swatted them back to Georgia with with a 14-8 defeat.  Once again the Thompson’s were held in check combining for only 1 goal.  Next Game: vs Rochester  Friday 7:30 p.m.

7—(8) Calgary Roughnecks (4-7)  A much needed win by the Roughnecks 15-10 over the Rock keeps Calgary out of the basement in the west.  Curtis Dickson (6G/1A), Karsen Leung (3G) led the attack.  Roghnecks return home this week and look to stay on the winning trail.  Next Game: vs Colorado  Saturday 9pm. 

8—(9) Toronto Rock (3-7)   After losing Friday night 15-10, the Rock needed to win on Sunday, which is what they did 9-6 over Vancouver.  But the win was not easy.  Special teams played a big part as Toronto scored 4 of their goals on the man advantage.  Things do not get easier for the Rock.  They have a bye this week, and then have a big home and home matchup that almost decide their fate for the 2016 season.  Next Game(s): March 25th Friday vs Rush 7pm, March 26th  Saturday @ Rush  9pm.

9—(7) Vancouver Stealth (3-7)  Dropped their third straight, this time to Toronto 9-6.  Penalties will spell your demise and they did for Vancouver as Toronto scored four times on the man advantage.  Garrett Billings and Cprey Small each netted two goals in defeat.  Stealth look to get on the right track this week.  Next Game:  vs Rush  Saturday 10pm.
