Brett Hickey and the Coquitlam Adanacs visit Curtis Dickson and the Maple Ridge Burrards tonight in a rare Tuesday night tilt in the WLA schedule. Coming into the game a mere 3 points separate these two contenders for second place behind the high flying Victoria Shamrocks for first and both teams have been playing great, fast lacrosse as of late.
Coquitlam is coming into the game trying to turn a struggling team around. After going 2-3 in their last five games and playing inconsistent, tonight could be their chance to get some momentum in the push for a post season birth on a team looking like they could compete for the WLA crown. Adam Schute has stood on his head all season, coming into the game with a .809 Save % and only allowing 79 goals on 339 shots has kept his team in games all year. Also, with Darryl Veltman back in the lineup and earning points the way he does, don’t be surprised to see the Adanacs slowly move back into contention and put the heat on the Thunder and Lakers to keep their games on par.
On the other side of the battle Frankie Scigliano has partially split duties between the pipes this year with Carson Michaud, but Frankie’s .831 Save % is no slouch either and getting a player like Curtis Dickson back to support and already strong cast with Riley Loewen and Andrew Murphy putting up consistent points has kept this team strong and in second place respectively all season.
