The Ohio Machine are 1-10 on the season and far and away the worst team in Major League Lacrosse. But are they actually getting better?Ohio is a very young team, led by rookies Logan Schuss and Marcus Holman and second year stud Steele Stanwick. They lost their first round draft pick Peter Baum to LXM Pro. However, their offense is still young and dangerous.
They lost yesterday to the Hamilton Nationals 13-12. The Nationals are 8-3 on the season and the second best team in the league, but the Machine were able to hang with them. The week before they lost to Chesapeake 13-12 and then to Boston 13-10.
Before that was their 19-5 loss to the Denver Outlaws. But has there been a turning point since then for the Machine?
Ohio out scored Hamilton in the fourth quarter last night 5-2 to start their near comeback. They were held scoreless in the first but made up for it late. Holman and Joe Cummings scored late for Ohio after they had trailed 13-10 earlier in the quarter.
The last goal for Ohio was with 35 seconds left in the game, but they could not score again. However, it seems like the Machine are becoming a little something more than a pushover. Building for the future, it might be bright after all.
