It seems that every week the Bandits are in a situation where they need a win or else their playoff hopes become more and more unlikely. This week their challenge is Minnesota, a team that is also fighting to not be the odd team out but also a team that has beaten the Bandits already this season. Buffalo’s shown us that every game, no matter who its against, can be a challenge.
The Bandits are riding a five game losing streak that has lead them to the basement of the NLL. Tied with Colorado (who has beaten the Bandits twice this season) for the worst record in the league Buffalo needs to get on their horse in the last three games or they could see themselves on the outside looking in.
Minnesota isn’t in a much better position, now fighting with the Mammoth for the last spot in the West. With Calgary and Edmonton already clinched, and Washington likely to follow suit, there is only one available spot for the two teams if neither can beat out the Bandits for the cross-over spot. With a loss the Swarm would fall to 5-8 and lose ground on the Bandits.
Buffalo has given up more than 14 goals in their last three games, something they’ll need to avoid to beat the Swarm. Minnesota, although their record may not show it, does have weapons that can be very dangerous. The Bandits witnessed that first hand when they fell to Minnesota 13-12 in their home opener.
8:00 pm eastern is the time for this match-up in the Xcel Energy Center. As usual the game can be watched on the Lacrosse Network.
