Buffalo Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations Scott Loffler today announced the team has tagged forward Tracey Kelusky and goaltender Anthony Cosmo as Buffalo’s franchise players for the 2013 NLL season.
By declaring an Unrestricted Free Agent as a Franchise Player, a club ensures they will retain the player’s services for the upcoming season. Teams can declare up to two franchise players each year.
Kelusky played his second season as a Bandit in 2011-12 and tallied 28 points (12+16). In his career, the 37-year-old Peterborough, Ontario native has 766 points (357+409) in 171 games. He was acquired from Calgary in exchange for a first-round selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.
Cosmo, playing his first season as a Bandit in 2011-12, was named NLL Defensive Player of the Week for Week 14 after recording his first win as a Bandit and tying a season-high 46 saves on 53 shots (.868 SV%). The 35-year-old Mississauga, Ontario native was acquired from Minnesota in exchange for a first-round selection in the 2013 and 2014 NLL Entry Draft.
