As rumored for the past few days, the Bandits have released forward Luke Wiles and placed him on the team’s practice roster. They have also announced that Hayden Smith and Kevin Brownell have been placed on the active roster.
This season Wiles has struggled when compared to his previous numbers, scoring ten goals and ten assists in ten games. Six of those goals were scored in two of the games. Last season Wiles was second on the team in points with 39 goals and 31 assists.
Hayden Smith, the Bandits second round pick in this year’s draft, has played in four games this season. He’s notched only one assist. As a defensive style transition player, he could be a fill in for suspended Billy Dee Smith or recently traded Scott Self. Brownell, also a transition player, has played in one game this season. The Bandits also announced earlier in the week that they had activated forward Derek Hopcroft to the active roster as well.
