The Canadian Lacrosse League is pleased to announce Barrie Blizzard forward Caleb Wiles as the 2013 CLax Rookie of the Year. ”As a newcomer to CLax, Caleb proved to be one of the most dynamic and prolific scorers in our game,” said CLax Deputy Commissioner Jim Veltman. “Game in and game out he would produce highlight reel goals made of magic.”
In his first season, Wiles finished fifth in league scoring registering 63 points including 35 goals and 28 assists in 12 regular season games. He collected 10 power play goals and led the league with seven shorthanded markers. His 35 goals was also tied for the second highest in CLax history.
Wiles played his Junior A career with Orillia and has been a member of the Major Series Brooklin Redmen the past two seasons. The league also announced the 2013 All Rookie Team.

Connor Danko – Niagara Lock Monsters
Danko helped lead the Lock Monsters to an 11-3 regular season record. In nine regular season games, Danko posted a 7-1 record tying the Clax single season wins record. He also finished second in the league in both goals against average (10.20 GAA) and save percentage (.809).
Caleb Wiles – Barrie Blizzard
Wiles finished fifth in league scoring registering 63 points including 35 goals and 28 assists in 12 regular season games. He collected 10 power play goals and led the league with seven shorthanded markers. His 35 goals was also tied for the second highest in CLax history.
Corey Fowler – Niagara Lock Monsters
Fowler helped lead the Lock Monsters to an 11-3 regular season record. He played in all 14 regular season contests registering 32 goals and 48 assists for 80 points, a new single season points record. Fowler also tied teammate Andrew Potter for a new single season assists record with 48.
Dustin Caravello – Brampton Inferno
Caravello helped lead the Inferno to an 8-6 regular season record and a home playoff game. He played in 11 regular season contests registering 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points.
John St. John – Durham TurfDogs
As the youngest player in the Canadian Lacrosse League, St. John appeared in 10 regular season games, registering 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points.
Mike Teeter – Barrie Blizzard
Teeter had a strong rookie season with the expansion Blizzard. He finished the season second in team scoring with 20 goals and 21 assists for 41 points in 14 regular season contests.
