The Calgary Roughnecks have made a signing, adding Jordan McBride. The restricted free agent played last season with the Vancouver Stealth but began his career with the Colorado Mammoth when he was drafted in 2011.
McBride finished the season on the Vancouver practice roster. The righty forward out of Stony Brook has 76 career points in three NLL seasons. His career high was 49 points in 2013 with Colorado where he scored 24 goals and had 35 assists.
Calgary has some tremendous forwards but currently lack depth. Scott Ranger remains an unrestricted free agent, but they do have superstars such as Shawn Evans, Curtis Dickson, Dane Dobbie, Jeff Shattler and Daryl Veltman. They are very deep on transition and might move players such as Karsen Leung to forward, and Tor Reinholdt can be a goal scorer.
Calgary has not been terribly active this off season other than signing defenseman Jeff Moleski and keeping most of their RFAs. Andrew McBride and Ranger are their only free agents remaining.
