Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Mike Board announced today that the team has re-signed transition Travis Cornwall and defenceman Greg Harnett to one-year contracts for the 2013 National Lacrosse League season, pending league approval.
“Travis and Greg made the big transition from junior to pro in a very positive manner last season,” said Board. “They both showed versatility in their roles and a commitment to improving. Developing our younger players is important and we look forward to Travis and Greg making even bigger contributions to the Roughnecks this season.”
Cornwall, Calgary’s first-round selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, recorded 10 goals and added four assists for 14 points over 15 games during his 2012 rookie campaign. Last season, the native of Coquitlam, British Columbia tallied a career-high four goals in the Roughnecks’ 21-10 road win over the Colorado Mammoth.
Harnett, a native of Caledon East, Ontario, returns to Calgary for his second season in the National Lacrosse League after collecting 25 loose balls over 12 games played.
