Cannons Need a Win To Clinch

As I said last week, it’s very simple. The Boston Cannons need to defeat the Ohio Machine to be the the 2012 MLL playoffs.

If they lose, and the Lizards win or the Rattlers lose, they can still get in. But it’s so simple, they just need to defeat the last place team in the league.

They are playing at Ohio, which is the Machine’s last home game, and game overall, of the 2012 season. The Machine want to make an impact in their first season, and will no doubt try to play the role of spoiler.

Boston is coming off of a Championship season in 2011, and have their eyes set towards a repeat in their own backyard if they can just get a win tonight.

This season has been full of positives for them, with Paul Rabil having an MVP season, Jordan Burke repeating his greatness of last year, Matt Poskay reaching 200 goals and players like Ari Sussman stepping up and having a major impact.

They don’t want to see all of that end tonight, they want to see two more games to be played at Championship Weekend, in Boston.

To reach that, all they need tonight is a simple win. That’s all they need, and it will be on national television tonight on CBS Sports Network. If you haven’t watched an MLL game all year, you want this one to be the one you tune in for.
