CLax Three Stars: Week Seven

It was a busy weekend in the Canadian Lacrosse League with all seven teams in action.
Here are the CLax three stars for week seven.

3rd star – Johnnie Rae of the Barrie Blizzard
Rae was solid at both ends of the rink this weekend. He used his size to drive to the net often which created a lot of space for his teammates. He has an intimidating presence and opponents are definitely aware when he’s on the turf. His Blizzard lost both of their games but Rae’s hard work has earned him third star honors this week.

2nd star – Ryan Campbell of the Brampton Inferno
Campbell was in beast mode once again this weekend as he led the Inferno to a 12-10 victory over the Iroquois Ironmen.  Campbell had 4 goals and 3 assists and leads all Brampton scorers with 32 points on the season; his closest teammate is 8 points behind him.

1st star – Connor Danko of the Niagara Lock Monsters
Danko was impressive in Niagara’s lone game this weekend stopping 48 of the 53 shots that the Blizzard threw his way. The Lock Monsters blew the Blizzard out of the building with a score of 21-5 and he was the main reason for this lopsided affair. Danko now sits with a goals against average (GAA) of 8.39 which is good enough for first in the league.
