The news was bad for the Rochester Knighthawks this week despite their game one victory in the eastern conference finals.
Cody Jamieson, last season’s MVP, was injured in the victory last week. It’s being reported he has a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the playoffs.
Along with the playoffs, Jamieson could miss most of the Six Nations Chiefs series in Major Series Lacrosse. It remains to be seen how it affects his WILC play in September as well.
Jamieson’s injury is obviously a huge blow for Rochester as they head into Toronto for Week 2. Brad Self stepped up big last week but they’ll need players like Joe Resetarits to step up as well to fill the void.
The Knighthawks are the three time defending champions and are looking for their fourth straight.
Jamieson limped off the field in the first quarter last week and could not put any pressure on his right leg. The team is yet to officially announce the injury or make a move to replace him on the roster.
