The 2014 NCAA Division III Lacrosse Championship will be held in Baltimore, Md. once again. I have been going to these hallowed grounds every year since 2008 when it was held at Gillette Stadium and never have I been disappointed by the quality of the Division III game held right smack in the middle of the Memorial Day Weekend festivities. Sure, Salisbury and Cortland have been involved – either in part, or in whole – in all but one of those trips, but the quality of the game has never made this game the lowlight of the weekend.
The 2014 edition of this tournament promises to be another special one, as you all have seen through out D3 Top 20 Countdown series that has been running the last few weeks. While I would only expect a handful of those teams – probably less – to actually challenge for the title, the ride there should be nothing less than exhilarating. Every few weeks, I will look at what is happening in the world of D3 lacrosse and make predictions on what the 29-team field will look like come Selection day.
I will not seed them. I will not predict who goes where. I will merely predict who will be in the show. Consider this my conference predictions, if you want, but do not read two teams next to each other as facing off.
