The Denver Outlaws have done what no other team in the history of the MLL has done, go undefeated into the playoffs. The outlaws have gone 413 days, that’s a year and 48 days without a lose. The Outlaws rolled on to an 18-12 win over the Hamilton Nationals today. The only other pro lacrosse team to go undefeated is the 1993 Buffalo Bandits of the NLL who went 8-0.
With the win today the Denver Outlaws have become members of a small group of teams to go undefeated in regular season play. They set the MLL league record for wins in a single season, previously at 12, and now rank third in goals for at 216. Also looking at a new record is Outlaws goaltender Jesse Schwartzman, who reset he’s old record of, 9.87 goals against average, with a goals against average of 9.67 percent.
The Outlaws will go into next week’s playoffs as the number one seed and most likely the favorite to win the Championship this year. Stay tuned to In Lacrosse We Trust for extensive coverage of the Outlaws and Major League Lacrosse.
