The playoffs of the FIL tournament have begun with eight teams taking home division wins while the Blue Division is still active in pool play.
Yellow Division
Ireland took home the Yellow Division with a win over Bermuda. Brian Gillis scored six goals for the Irish. Meanwhile, France defeated Uganda to take third place in the division. Uganda is paired up today with Korea and Ireland has Israel, while Bermuda battles Sweden and and France takes on Slovakia.
Green Division
Netherlands won this division with a huge victory over Italy. Because of the goal differential tiebreaker, they take first, Italy second place and Norway takes third. 0-3 China falls into fourth place. The Netherlands defeated Italy 14-8 earlier in the day and their +5 differential won it for them.
Orange Division
Israel has owned this division from the start, going 3-0 and crushing Slovakia yesterday. Sweden took second place while Slovakia slotted into third and Korea at 0-3 was in last. Israel has an interesting game with Ireland today.
Red Division
Germany defeated Hong Kong yesterday to bring them to 3-0 and into first place. Hong Kong at 2-1 is now in second place with Austria moving to third place since they defeated Belguim, who falls into fourth. Germany plays the Czech Republic today in what will be one of the tournament’s best games.
Turquoise Division
Finland took a huge win over Spain to win the division while Spain falls into third place behind 2-1 Mexico. Finland’s 18-1 dominant win pinned them against a very good Scotland team. Colombia went 0-3 and is in last place in the division, facing off against Thailand.
White Division
Scotland took home this division with a 3-0 record. Switzerland finished in second at 2-1 while Latvia was in third and Thailand in last. Scotland has a good match up with Finland today that will knock off a very good team.
Grey Division
The Czech Republic took this division with ease and a win over Poland yesterday. Turkey defeated the 0-3 Costa Rica so they fall to the three and four seeds.
