While this is a huge trade for the Charlotte Hounds, fixing their glaring faceoff woes, they will not see Geoff Snider for three weeks. He is currently in Finland coaching the U19 Team Canada.
When he comes back for the final three games, Snider makes all the difference in the world. They have tried several journeyman faceoff guys, but it seems like they have finally found the solution to ail that issue.
Snider, of course, is one of the top faceoff men in both box and field lacrosse. He is 807-1,584 in faceoffs in his Major League Lacrosse career for a percentage of .509%.
Several times this season I have wrote the Hounds are a faceoff man away from a playoff spot. They have won two games in a row, including an upset of the top seeded Chesapeake Bayhawks.
However, can they wait these three weeks for Snider, and still make the playoffs? Adam Ghitelman has been solid in net, and they have a talented roster of scorers. If they can sneak into the playoffs, they might be a team the other clubs don’t want to face, and Snider will make all the difference in the world.
