Howe Named Rascals Assistant

Aug 14th, 2012 | Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Rascals, proud members of the Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) have announced today that Tom Howe has signed on to become the first Assistant Coach in franchise history.

Tom comes from a legacy lacrosse family from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. His father Ted Howe was inducted to the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1987. His brothers Tim, and Ted Jr. both played their Jr. A lacrosse in St. Catharine’s, Ted Jr. was inducted into the St. Catharine’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2012 as a builder of the game of lacrosse. Howes nephew Mike Howe, played four years at Cornell University, making it to 3 final fours during that time (including the national championship game in 2009). Howe’s son Josh currently plays high school lacrosse for St. John’s in Shrewsbury, MA. Howe currently resides in the Boston, MA area (since 2006) before that, he spent 9 years in the Lake In the Hills, IL. area.

Howe played his Junior A lacrosse for the St. Catharine’s Athletics, and 8 years of Senior lacrosse for the Fergus Thistles winning 5 Presidents cups as National champions. Howe currently serves as the Offensive Coordinator for Team Ireland National Indoor Lacrosse Team. Howe has spent the last 8 years coaching youth and high school level lacrosse in both Illinois and Massachusetts. In addition, he helped out as a scout/assistant coach with the Boston Blazers organization in 2009 during the first year back in the NLL.
