According to multiple sources, Jeremy Noble remains unsigned by the Rochester Knighthawks as they approach training camp opening this weekend. The team traded for Noble, the second overall pick, by sending Johnny Powless, a former fifth overall pick, to the Vancouver Stealth on the day of the draft.
Two sources confirm that the Colorado Mammoth are interested in the services of the Denver resident. Noble played at the University of Denver and for MLL’s Denver Outlaws and lives in the city. The Mammoth attempted to trade for the second pick to acquire him on draft day, but in the end Rochester gave up more. Noble could potentially replace Eric Law who is supposed to miss the early part of the season with an injury.
The Minnesota Swarm were also interested but never got a chance, as Noble went one pick before they picked third overall and drafted Miles Thompson. The Swarm drafted his brother Jason Noble the draft year before.
One source indicated that the reason the Knighthawks signed free agent forward Gavin Prout was to potentially replace Noble if they end up moving him. Even if they don’t, sources indicate he will not play for the Knighthawks.
