Rochester Knighthawks have had their first training camp session wrapped up, and many events took place. After talking to several sources at Hawks camp, we can provide some details.
As we reported over the weekend, Paul Rabil did not attend. Neither did defenseman Pat McCready with rumors of retirement. However, he has also skipped the past two Hawks camps.
After skipping last season, Joel McCready did attend camp. The transition player did not play in 2012 due to job commitments in Vancouver.
Ian Llord and Robbie Campbell were two new presences there. Llord played very physical and looked better than he did last season in Buffalo, while Campbell showed little rust after not playing in the summer.
The Hawks were without two goalies on day two of camp. Ben Van Every suffered an injury that required stitches and Jake Henhawk was unable to attend camp. So they called up Oakville Buzz goalie Ian Duffy and Rochester Greywolves goalie Mike Matteo.
Jordan Hall wore an orange jersey instead of teal for no contact after coming back from an ACL injury he sustained last season.
In the scrimmage on Sunday afternoon, Alex Kedoh Hill scored three goals while Cody Jamieson and Mike Accursi scored two each.
