The Boston Cannons got some good news this week as their injured goaltender Jordan Burke was activated from the Injured Reserve.Burke had broken his thumb in the second game of the season and Mike Gabel, who was acquired in the off season, had been starting in his place. Eric Hagarty, who has served as the backup, has been assigned to the practice squad after Burke was activated.
Without Burke, the Cannons have gone 1-1 with an overtime win at home against the Chesapeake Bayhawks last week. They had this week off but head into Denver to face the 4-0 Outlaws on June 1st.
The Cannons have allowed the third most goals in the league this season with 55 goals allowed, ahead of only the Ohio Machine (56) and the Charlotte Hounds (57.
Burke was the 2011 MLL Championship MVP after he led the Cannons to a championship win over the Hamilton Nationals. That season he had started as the backup goalie but overtook current Bayhawks goaltender Kip Turner as the starter.
