This has been quite a season for retiring in the professional lacrosse. Scott Ranger, Ryan Ward, Tracey Kelusky, Stephen Berger, and Ryan Boyle have all hung up the cleats. The next is Buffalo Bandits goalie Kurtis Wagar.
According to reports out of training camp from our Bandits reporter Daniel Pattison and the Big Z Lacrosse Network, Wagar announced his retirement at NLL camp today.
In his eight year career, Wagar put up a goals against average of 11.80. His best year came in 2008 when he had an 8.06 in 16 games played. He played over his career with Buffalo, Philadelphia, Orlando, New York, and Edmonton.
The retirement was announced by Troy Cordingley to the media this afternoon.
