Rochester Greywolves and former Rhode Island Kingfish forward AJ Laffin agreed to do a blog for us about his experienceexperieince at the NLL combine. Going into the combine I had a lot on my mind. My teammate and I (Aaron Botazzo) were held up at the U.S / Canadian border and we were real worried about making it to the sports testing on time on Saturday. We made it on Time with about 30min left before starting and we were both really impressed with the number of players that were there.
The combine was run very professionally and I was proud to be a part of it. There was a lot of great talent at the combine but you could tell everyone was waiting for Sunday to come around so we can start playing.
There were a number of great players at this combine and I was curious of how I would stand against them. I played both offense and Defense to show that I can handle myself on both ends of the floor hoping for one of the coaches/general managers to notice what I’m capable of.
Overall I think everyone did a very good job during the scrimmage, probably one of the best talented games I have ever played in. I was fortunate enough to talk to one of the general managers which was a great experience and hopefully somehow will extend my lacrosse carrier for the winter. Good Luck to everyone that is being drafted tonight and thank you for a great experience.
