Major Series Lacrosse saw a major trade today with Adam Jones being traded for Jordan MacIntosh. MacIntosh, who played with the Peterborough Lakers last season, is shipped to the Oakville Rock in return for Jones.
This is the first trade of the Lakers new general manager Joe Sullivan, who is also the head coach of the National Lacrosse League’s Minnesota Swarm. Interestingly enough, the player that Sullivan traded away is MacIntosh, who plays for the Swarm in the NLL.
According to the Peterborough Examiner, Jones has committed to playing all 18 games with the Lakers over the summer while MacIntosh could only commit to 10. The fact that MacIntosh is from Oakville also played into the decision according to the Examiner.
“Adam is an accomplished player who won Minto Cups in Orangeville and played with Andrew Suitor. You’d know him better now to be the leading scorer in the NLL with the Colorado Mammoth. He plays well with John Grant Jr. If we’re able to keep Junior here for another season I’ve seen the dynamics firsthand between those two players. It’s phenomenal. Adam can feed the ball really well and he’s a real strong player and he can clearly bury the ball.
This season in the NLL Jones has 25 goals which leads the league. He is third in the league with 40 points, playing with the Colorado Mammoth.
