One thing everyone knows about the New England Black Wolves is that they are a very young team. There’s one veteran of the NLL that can help improve this franchise on the floor and in the locker room. This may be his third NLL team in four seasons but Jamie Lincoln is going to be a top player for his newest team.
Many people know Lincoln spent his college days at Denver University where he racked up 58 points before seeing his sophomore year cut short. His college career did finish strong in his new home, Hempstead, New York, as a member of the Hofstra Pride. After starting both seasons on Hofstra’s attack, Jamie finished as a two-time All American and All CAA conference team member.
In the 2011 NLL entry draft the Colorado Mammoth selected Lincoln with the 14th overall pick. The St. Catharine’s, Ontario native spent 2012 and 2013 seasons in Colorado scoring 71 points with 46 of them coming his rookie season. Last season Lincoln got a new start playing in nine games for the Vancouver Stealth—he had 14 points and a average of a goal a game. In the summer of 2012 Lincoln won a Mann Cup with the Peterborough Lakers while posting 48 points on offense.
Lincoln can have a breakout season in 2015. He brings to the Black Wolves a guy who can score inside and from the outside. As a lefty forward he brings depth and a tone of NLL appearance. The only other lefty’s are American Kevin Buchanan who took all of 2014 season off and Pat Saunders who had a breakout year last season with the Wings. This team also has three rookies, one of which is the team’s first choice in Mark Cockerton.
Lincoln is big and can use his body to score and is able to set screens and picks for his teammates. He is a do-it-all type player and will be a big impact in this new start for his career and for the newest NLL team the New England Black Wolves.
