The New York Lizards continued making moves today acquiring some big name players and sending some away. First they traded for Kevin Copper and Matt Delonte of the Chesapeake Bayhawks for the second pick (Cam Holding) and 28th pick in today’s draft. Then the Lizards traded both Cooper and Delone to the Ohio Machine for defenseman Kyle Hartzell.
New York also traded former MLL rookie of the year Matt Gibson to the Denver Outlaws in return for midfielder Justin Turri. The Lizards have had a busy off season already, trading away Mark Matthews while acquiring Ned Crotty, Matt Striebel and Steve DeNapoli.
Cooper was a rookie last season out of Maryland while Delonte is a faceoff man previously with Hamilton. He is now moved to Ohio where they struggled with faceoffs all season.
Hartzell, a defenseman, is the second D-man pickup of the off season for the Lizards who also added DeNapoli. The Lizards also get the 13th pick in the collegiate draft.
